C. Fun, Fun, Fun. D. Gun, Gun, Gun. And Justice for All (stylized with ellipsis as And Justice for All) is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica, released on August 25, 1988 via Elektra Records. It was the first Metallica album to feature bassist Jason Newsted following the death of Cliff Burton in 1986.
Aug 6, 2014 · Along with the previous album "Master Of Puppets", this would be the band's most progressive metal oriented recording. All of the songs clock in above the 5 minute mark with lengthy instrumental passages and epic lyrics and song structure. "Justice" also marked the first recording after the tragic death of original bassist Cliff Burton.
A couple things right off the bat. First, a little context: I do not think that And Justice For All is a bad album. Far from it: I think it contains the band's best songwriting as a whole; While there are lyrics and song structures I like more on an individual basis, they aren't as consistently good on any other record.
